Training for Groups

To provide training for a small group here’s what you need to know to get started.
Becoming the Group Manager
If you are ordering a course for several people to take, or even if you are ordering one course for someone other than yourself to take, you will register as a ‘group user’ and will become the Group Manager for the account. That simply means you will enroll the other students and assign the courses, all of which is very easy. For more information on being a Group Manager, see the detailed information below.
Ordering the courses.
  1. Browse through the courses by category to find the products you want, or search for products by keyword.
  2. Add courses to your shopping cart, and set the quantity you need per course. The quantity number equals the number of people to be trained. If you have three people to train, set quantity at ‘3’. If you have three people plus yourself, set quantity at ‘4’, etc. Click ‘Checkout’ when you’re ready to order your courses.
  3. To place an order you’ll be asked to create an account. Your email address should be your login, and you’ll add your own password. You should enroll as a ‘group user’.
  4. Provide the payment method as requested.
  5. If you are using anti-Spam software to stop unwanted emails, be sure to watch for messages from this eCampus solution and allow them through.
Taking the courses.
  1. You can access your training account immediately upon acceptance of your order.
  2. To access your courses at a later time, return to eCampus and log in with your email and password.
  3. When logging in as the Group Manager, you’ll receive instructions for enrolling students and assigning courses.
  4. Each student will have 30 days to complete each course.
  5. Each course has a final exam, upon completion of which you and the student will be able to print a training certificate.
That’s it! If you need more detail review the information below.

What does it mean to be a Group Manager?
The Group Manager will have the following duties and opportunities:
  • to enroll each student/employee
  •
  • to assign courses to each student
  •
  • to create the notification email
  •
  • to track the progress of each student
  •
  • to see the final exam results and print completion certificates of each student

How to do the above items is explained in detail once you have purchased courses and entered the system, but here is a quick review:

  • Enrolling students requires entering only their name, login and a password - you may also designate a department or location if you wish.
  • When enrolling each student you will assign which course(s) each student is to take, based on the courses and quantities you ordered.
  • Email notification (which you may customize) is sent automatically to each student with instructions for accessing the training
  • When tracking the progress of your students, you will be able to view a profile of each student, containing the courses assigned to them, their progress with each course and the results of final tests.

How many Students can I register?
There is no set limit on how many students you can register. As a group manager your account is intended to never expire – you will be able to login and retrieve student data, but as a precaution we recommend you download the important completion data from the reporting tool periodically.

Selecting your Courses
Courses are organized by DIVISION, CATEGORY and SUBCATEGORY. You may either 'browse' the categories, or use the 'search' box and enter a keyword. On each product page you'll receive a description of the product.

Once you have found the course or courses you wish to take, click the icon to 'add to cart'. Add the desired quantity based on the number of users you wish to have take each course. The quantity number can vary by course ordered. Once you have entered the system you will be able to assign the courses you've selected to the people you will enroll.

NOTE: If you, as the Group Manager, would also like to take a course you must include a 'seat' for yourself when designating the quantity. For example, if you have 5 employees but wish to also take the course yourself, you must order a quantity of 6.

Taking the Courses
Each course is made available to your students for a specific time frame.

1. Each student will be given 90 days to access each course. If courses are not accessed within 90 days, they will expire. By 'access a course', we mean begin to take the course material by opening the first module.

2. Once a course is accessed for the first time, the student will have 30 days to complete the course and take the final exam. This 30-day clock is applied to each course and each student separately.

If you wish to enroll students for multiple courses at once, be sure they are able to begin and complete the courses according to this schedule. The average course takes about an hour to complete, based on course content, user behavior and connection speed.

Final Test and Completion Certificate
Only after students have completed the full course will they be given access to the final test. The final tests are thorough and based specifically on the course content. Final tests can be taken up to three times at the choice of the student – the system will retain the highest score achieved.

Once a student completes the final test they will be shown their grade. Their grade will also be recorded in the system for the Group Manager to review. Along with seeing their final grade, the student will be able to print their 'Completion Certificate'. The Completion Certificate is just that - a statement that the student completed the course. While it displays the grade of the student, it does not make any assertions as to the student's mastery of the content. The completion certificate is not intended as a certification of the student's skill or knowledge level.

The Group Manager will also be able to print a copy of each Completion Certificate.

Even after completing the final exam (up to three times) each student will have continued access to the course material for the balance of the 30 days allowed per course.

Your Account
As an added benefit, we will keep track of the courses you order for your business. Each time you return to eCampus you'll be able to access your 'Personal Profile' and view the courses you have purchased.

As the Group Manager, your login to the Group Manager area will remain active after your courses have been completed. This will allow you to maintain a comprehensive view of all the courses your employees participate in at eCampus.
